MBPC Club Social
Information
We are excited to welcome you to our upcoming Pickleball Social. This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some friendly competition, connect with fellow pickleball lovers, and celebrate the vibrant spirit of our pickleball community.

For those of you on the waitlist, we encourage you to monitor your email or the PlaytimeScheduler.com registration. Some players might cancel last minute, providing an opportunity for you to join.

Please take a moment to read the following information to ensure everything runs smoothly. Due to the event's size, we might need to exercise some patience. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to a fantastic experience.
Unable to Attend

If you are unable to attend, please remove your name from the PlaytimeScheduler.com signup, even if it’s as late as Sunday morning. This will allow players on the waitlist an opportunity to participate.
Food

Potluck: Please bring enough food to serve approximately 6 people. There's no need to bring large quantities. Kindly refrain from bringing alcohol. The club will provide water jugs and soft drinks. Alcohol is not permitted.
Food assignments: Are based on the first letter of your last name:
A - E: Bring a Main Dish
F - L: Bring a Side Dish or Salad
M - R: Bring a Dessert
S - Z: Bring an Appetizer
Parking

The best lots to park are C and D. The MPC pickleball courts are located in the middle of the campus and are not easy to find from the parking lots. The route to the courts from both parking lots can be found on the MPC Campus Map.
Fee: There is no charge for parking on this day.
Check-In

When you arrive, head to our greeters at the welcome desk. They will give you a name tag and answer any questions you have about the event. You will also receive a "paddle tag." Please write your first and last name on this tag and attach it to the neck of your paddle before handing it over to the paddle queue manager. If you signed up on Playtime Scheduler with Guests, please check in with your guests so we can make sure they are registered.
Newbies

If you are new to pickleball or have only played a few times, our greeters will mark your name tag to indicate your novice status. This will help the queue manager identify you. When it's your turn, we will pair you with similar players and send you to a court with one of our senior members for guidance.
Where to Sit

Preferred Seating: The preferred seating and eating area is on the seat wall along the path outside the courts.
Bring Your Own Chair: You're welcome to bring your own chair and sit in the tennis court area but follow the tennis court guidelines.
Concrete Surfaces: You can also place your chair on the concrete surfaces around the facility. Just make sure the walkways near the court remain unobstructed.
Where to Put Your Stuff

Don't Clutter the Courts: Please do not bring bags or other personal items onto the pickleball courts. Water bottles are fine.
Use the Fence: If you have a hanging bag, you can hang it outside the fence.
Use the Tennis Courts: Like chairs, bags can be stored on the tennis courts, but please adhere to the tennis court guidelines.
The Wall: There is storage space behind the seating wall, but be sensitive to the vegetation. Do not store items on the wall.
Tennis Court Guidelines

No Food: Food is not allowed within the fences surrounding the tennis courts.
Chair Placement: Chairs and gear are not permitted on the tennis courts' playing surface, so please keep them outside the courts' boundary lines.
Chair Movement: Ensure the feet of your chair do not create any marks, scuffs, or scratches on the ground in the fenced tennis area.
No Pickleball: Do not play pickleball on the tennis courts.
Paddle Queue Instructions

Paddle Manager on Duty: A paddle manager will collect your paddle and place it in the queue along the fence.
Stay Nearby: Please remain close to the courts while your paddle is in the queue to avoid losing your turn.
Group Play: If you wish to play with friends, you can include paddles for up to 3 other players.
Tag Your Paddle: Don't forget to attach your paddle name tag to your paddle.
Playing Games

Retrieve Your Paddle: When it's your turn, collect your paddle from the queue.
Ball Provision: If you don't have a ball, one will be provided to you by the queue manager. Please return it to the queue manager after your game.
Game Format: The standard format is to play one game to 11 (win by 2). However, if the queue is moving slowly, the manager may request games to be played to 9 (win by 2).
Rain Alert

We don't expect there to be rain so we have not set a rain date. If we are unfortunate and it looks like rain, we will cancel the event on Playtime Scheduler the night before the event. Everyone registered should receive a cancelation notice from PT Scheduler.

Join Us at the Event: Visit the membership and merchandise table to learn more and join.
Club Merchandise

New Release: We are selling hats with our club logo to promote the club. We will have about 20 hats available at the event. Because our goal is to promote the club, not to make money, we are selling the hats at our cost, which is $20 + tax.
Pre-Order: Order hats or bag tags in our new online store. Hats can be picked up at the event. Bag tags require some time to produce since they are custom orders.
Donate Your Old Paddles

The club will be collecting old paddles during the event. If you would like to donate them, we will distribute them to schools, kids, and new players.
How You Can Help

Financial: It takes money to put on events like this. With expenses including facility rental, event insurance, beverages, and supplies, this social is projected to cost the club over $500. Additional tax deductible donations to help offset these expenses are gladly accepted.
Time: We are looking for people to help with club operations and events. If you are interested, please contact us or email us.
